## Overview

Lazur is an AI voice dictation and ambient writing app for macOS. Hold a global hotkey, speak, and get text pasted at your cursor in Slack, Gmail, Cursor, VS Code, Notion, Linear, and any other Mac app.

Lazur is for **live dictation while you write**, not meeting transcription or speaker labels. Speak one voice into the field you are already in. Optional **Polished** mode cleans punctuation and structure. **Transcript** mode pastes local speech-to-text only.

## Core features

### Dictation
Hold-to-talk (or toggle) system-wide. Speech is transcribed on the Mac. Choose Transcript (local text) or Polished (cloud rewrite of that text). Audio is not uploaded for speech-to-text.

### Local speech-to-text
NVIDIA Parakeet TDT runs on-device. Audio does not leave the Mac during transcription. Lazur does not identify speakers or diarize meetings.

### Cloud polish (optional)
When Polished mode is on, **text** (not audio) is sent to cloud AI to clean filler, punctuation, and layout. Paste happens once, with the polished result.

### Intent Mode
Voice commands to write, rewrite, reply, or reformat using the front window and selected text. Optional screen glance (Screen Recording permission) helps “reply to this.” Pro: 300 requests/month. Power: unlimited, fair use.

### Personal dictionary and snippets
Names, jargon, and voice-triggered expansions stay local and sync if you choose.

### Zen Mode
On-device noise suppression while you dictate.

### Clipboard slots
Nine clipboard slots for quick paste.
